The tiles, and where each one leads
Every tile is also a link to the report that explains it, so a figure you do not believe is one selection away from its workings. The two money tiles answer different questions and are routinely confused: Collected this month is receipts, Outstanding is debt.
Money is shown in your hospital’s own currency, taken from your billing settings — see Currency.
An em dash is not a zero
Tiles show — while a figure is still loading, and only ever show a number once the real value has arrived. A zero on this screen is a true zero. The same honesty applies to permissions. If your role is not allowed to see a figure, you get a dash or the row is simply not shown — you are never given a fabricated zero standing in for something you cannot see. If a colleague quotes a number you cannot find, that is a permissions difference, not a discrepancy in the data. See Staff permissions. The Reports list
Below the tiles, Reports lists every report available to your hospital with a one-line description of what each covers. It is the same set as the Analytics page, filtered the same way — by your plan, your care areas and your own permissions — so turning a care area off removes its report from here too. For what each report contains and why the list differs between hospitals, see Hospital reports and analytics.Where to go next
The dashboard is aggregates only: no patient names, no clinical detail, nothing to act on. For the work itself, go to the unit:- The day’s queue and arrivals — Front desk
- Beds, admissions and occupancy — Wards
- Today’s list and case flow — Theatre
- Samples and turnaround — Laboratory
- Invoices, payments and debt — Billing

A temporary read failure. Reload the page. If it keeps happening, note the time — support can match it against your audit log.
A tile has shown an em dash for a while

The figure has not arrived, or you are not permitted to see it. Reload first; if the dash persists while a colleague sees a number, compare roles under Permissions.
A whole row is missing compared with what a colleague sees
A whole row is missing compared with what a colleague sees
Figures degrade by permission rather than erroring, so a row you may not see is hidden rather than blanked. This is deliberate.

Reports follow your plan, your care areas and your permissions. See Hospital reports and analytics, which lists which report needs which care area.
