The ladders
Each edition has its own ladder, and you move up and down within it. You never move between editions. See The three editions.
Only Clinic & Hospital has a Free plan. Pharmacy starts at Starter and Diagnostics at Starter Lab. Clinic & Hospital no longer sells a Starter plan — a small number of clinics who bought it before it was retired keep it; see Legacy plans.
The names are not interchangeable between ladders. A Diagnostics plan is called Professional Lab, not “Professional”, and Clinic & Hospital has no Professional or Business tier at all — so a feature described as needing “Essential” is describing the clinic ladder and has no equivalent rung in the other two.
Enterprise is priced individually. It is the plan for hospitals, multi-branch pharmacy groups and multi-site labs, and its cost depends on your size and structure. Ask us rather than looking for a price on the card.
Clinic & Hospital prices
Paying yearly saves about 20% against twelve monthly payments — a little under on Essential, exactly 20% on Team — and the saving is shown on each card when you switch the plan page to Yearly. A yearly purchase is billed in full the day you buy it and never includes the paid trial. Prices are shown in US dollars or naira depending on your workspace’s billing currency; the plan page always carries the amount you will actually be charged. See Staff seats for how extra seats are billed.
What your plan actually controls
Four different things, and it helps to keep them apart. The shape of your navigation is not set by your subscription. On Clinic & Hospital it comes from the clinic type — Solo Clinic, Team Clinic or Enterprise Clinic — chosen when the workspace was created. Solo and Team get one flat list and call the people you serve clients; Enterprise Clinic gets a hospital layout grouped by service line and calls them patients, and it is what unlocks Facility, Wards, Departments, Theatre and Role Navigation in Settings. It is a separate field from your plan and is not something you change by upgrading. See Care areas.
AI credits by plan
AI agents are a Clinic & Hospital feature — a pharmacy or diagnostics workspace has no agents and no credit balance. Clinic & Hospital workspaces are granted these every month:
Refill packs are bought separately and never expire. See AI credits.
Locations by plan
Multi-site is a Clinic & Hospital feature — one active location is included on every plan; Team lifts that to unlimited and adds the Revenue by location report:
Downgrading from Team never deactivates or deletes a location — only adding or reactivating one past the new limit is refused. See Locations.
Insurance & billing credits by plan
Separate from AI credits, US insurance work is charged per use in billing credits — 100 credits = $1.00, topped up from Settings → Billing and spent only when an action actually runs. What your plan includes comes first; credits are only consulted after any included allowance is used. Included with your plan, every month:
Free’s manual insurance claims, CMS-1500 forms and eligibility checks are billed at a flat 25 credits (0.50) per electronic claim — no included allowance. There are no claims-AI tools on Free; claims are entered and submitted by hand.
Per-use cost in credits, where not included:
Insurance discovery, claim-status checks, payment reports, coordination-of-benefits checks, claim attachments and eLab requests are Essential-and-above tools — Free’s insurance work is limited to entering and submitting a claim by hand and checking eligibility. A workspace still on the legacy Starter plan keeps Starter’s own rates; see Legacy plans.
Two rules worth knowing: a failed action is not charged — usage is recorded only after the check or claim succeeds — and the same record is never billed twice: retrying something that already went through does not spend a second set of credits. e-Prescribing is not metered at all; it is covered by its monthly add-on.
Try Essential — the paid trial
Clinic & Hospital no longer offers a no-card free trial. New workspaces start on Free, with no time limit and no wall — see What Free includes below. If you want to try a paid plan first, Try Essential costs $29.90 (or ₦29,900) and gives you 30 days of Essential, after which it converts automatically to the full Essential price ($99.90/mo, or ₦129,900/mo) unless you cancel. A card is required to start it. The trial fee is a separate charge — it is not credited toward your first month. One trial per workspace — a workspace that has already had a paid subscription, or already used this trial, is not offered it again. The trial is offered only during a workspace’s first 30 days. After that, Essential is sold at its full monthly price with no trial, and the card offers Apply for the Startup Program instead — see Startup Program. Choosing Yearly skips the trial at any time: the full yearly price is billed that day. Add-ons — AI Note Taker, ePrescribe, ePrescribe PDMP and eLabs Access — aren’t purchasable on Free or while a trial is running. Each add-on’s card on your billing screen shows Requires Paid Plan on Free, or Available After Trial with the date your trial ends while one is running, in place of Add Feature; it opens once the trial converts to a paid subscription, or once you start a paid plan directly. See Change your plan to start or cancel a trial. The API access add-on
Every workspace on Team already has API access to its own non-patient data — inventory, booking availability, CRM pipelines, listing data — at no extra charge. The API add-on goes further: it opens the workspace’s own patients, appointments, clinical notes, CRM and full inventory to keys the workspace creates itself.
Before your patient records become reachable by any key, the workspace owner reviews and accepts an API data agreement in the app. See API access for the full walkthrough.

The rule that surprises people
This is why a workspace can appear to “lose” telehealth, insurance or the store overnight with no setting having changed. Check the subscription before you check anything else: under Billing, a clinic card reads Active, Trial Active, Past Due, Cancelled or No Subscription. Anything other than Active or Trial Active explains the missing features on its own.Where to see your plan
Each workspace you own gets a card showing its plan, its status, its Current Plan features, its patient or customer usage against the cap, and either Trial ends or Next billing. Inside a workspace, the same detail is on Dashboard → Subscription.Related
