ClinikEHR installs straight from the browser. There is no app store, no separate download, and no second login — you get the same workspace in its own window, with an icon on your home screen.

Install it

1

Wait for the install card, or trigger it yourself

After a little use, a card appears at the bottom of the screen: Install ClinikEHR over “Install our app for quick access and offline support”, with Install and Not Now.If you dismiss it, it stays away for 7 days — you do not have to wait that long, see the next step.
2

Or install from the browser menu

  • Android / Chrome / Edge — browser menu → Install app or Add to Home screen.
  • iPhone and iPad / Safari — the Share button → Add to Home Screen. Safari does not show the in-page card; this is the only route.
  • Desktop Chrome or Edge — the install icon at the right of the address bar.
3

Open it from your home screen

ClinikEHR launches in its own window with no address bar. You are still signed in; nothing needs setting up again.
The install card never appears when you are already running the installed app — that is how you can tell which one you have opened.

Updates

ClinikEHR updates itself. When a new version is ready you get a toast: Update available over “A new version of ClinikEHR is ready.”, with a Refresh action. Three things about that toast are deliberate:
  • It never reloads on its own. A till may have a sale on screen, so the refresh happens when you choose it.
  • It waits. Leave it and keep working; it stays until you act on it.
  • It does not appear while you are offline, because there is nothing to fetch.
Select Refresh at a natural break — between patients, or after a sale is finished — and you are on the new version.

Connection warnings

The app tells you about the network rather than failing quietly. If you navigate somewhere that has not been cached while offline, you get the offline page: You’re Offline, some troubleshooting tips, and Try Again. When the connection returns a Back Online pill appears at the top and the heading changes to Connection Restored!.

What works without a connection

Installing does not make the whole product available offline. A specific, deliberately narrow set of screens keeps capturing work during an outage; most do not. Read Working without internet before you depend on it — especially the rule that you must open a screen once while online before it works offline.

Check it worked

  • ClinikEHR has an icon on your home screen or in your applications list.
  • Opening it shows no address bar and no browser tabs.
  • Your workspace loads without a fresh sign-in.
  • Turning airplane mode on and reloading gives the ClinikEHR offline page rather than the browser’s own error page.

If something goes wrong

On iPhone and iPad it never does — use Share → Add to Home Screen. Elsewhere, the card is suppressed for 7 days after a dismissal and never shows when the app is already installed. Use the browser’s own install menu item instead.
Select Refresh on the update toast. If you have not seen one, close the app completely and reopen it — the check runs on launch and then periodically.
You have opened a bookmark rather than the installed app. Launch it from the home-screen icon.
That is normal. To sign in without a password, add a passkey — see Secure your account.
That screen had not been opened on this device while online. Open it once with a connection, then it is available. Not every screen works offline regardless — see Working without internet.
