Send an emergency code

If your clinic has set up codes you see a red Codes button at the top of the list, on a phone too. Select it, choose the code, say where (if it asks), and select Send to confirm. Everyone the code reaches gets a banner and the code’s own sound, and it stays until they confirm. A code can be sent only a few times in a short while, so a slip of the finger can’t flood anyone.

Set up codes (owners)

In Team chat settings, Emergency codes lists them. Select New code, then give it a name, a colour, a sound, who it reaches (everyone on shift, one role, or one site) and whether it asks where.

Start a huddle

Select Start a huddle in a channel’s header. The huddle opens in its own window, where your browser asks for the microphone and the controls live. A huddle is audio only and is never recorded. A bar above the conversation shows who is in it, with Join; the person who started it, owners, managers and channel admins also see End huddle. The conversation gets a card with the same Join and End huddle, and the card reads Huddle ended with how many people were in it and for how long once it is over. A huddle nobody joins closes by itself after a few minutes. If it is full you see Call is full. Calls and huddles are part of Essential and up; on the Free plan you see an upgrade prompt. When a call ends, the chat from the call is posted back as one reply that is folded; select it to show the lines.

Since your last shift

At the start of a shift you may see Since your last shift. Select Summarise (AI) on a conversation to read a private summary. It costs 1 credit per conversation, and only when you ask.

Reply to a code

A code shows Responding and Can’t respond. Either one stops the alarm on your screen, but only Responding counts as answering; if you can’t, it carries on to others. The person who sent the code, and owners and managers, can see who is responding, who can’t and who hasn’t answered, live.

Drills

An owner can turn on This is a drill when sending a code. It is marked DRILL, practice only, uses a softer sound and is left out of the clinic’s figures. Afterwards the Drill report shows who answered and how fast.

Calls from a direct message

Starting a call or huddle in a direct message or group message rings the other people. On a phone it fills the screen with Accept and Decline; on a computer it is a card in the corner. It stops by itself after about 30 seconds, then the conversation shows Missed call from Ada with Call back. The ring stays quiet during Do not disturb and quiet hours. A huddle in a channel shows a bar and a card you can join, and never rings.

Calls about a patient

In a patient conversation you are first told that the call is listed on the patient’s access trail: who joined, when and for how long, never what was said. It is not recorded.

Captions

In a call or huddle, Turn captions on shows live captions for you. They are English only and are not saved. While anyone has them on, everyone sees a notice that captions are on (not who). Captions are part of Essential and up.

Hand over a consult

An accepted consult has Hand over: choose a person and add a note. If two people tap Accept together, the first one owns it and the other sees who has it.
