The Nursing Station is the shift’s worklist: “Observations due across the ward. Recording happens on the patient.” It tells you who needs attention next; the charting itself happens against the individual patient. It needs the Enterprise plan and the In-patient care area in Settings → Facility.

Narrow the worklist

Four controls sit above the list: Use Bed order while you are walking and Priority when you are catching up.

Read the handover

A Shift handover block sits above the worklist. Add to it with Add to the handover… as the shift goes on rather than writing it all at the end — this is what the next shift reads first. Until anything is written it shows Nothing written this shift yet.

When there is nothing outstanding the list reads Nothing waiting.

Each row carries two actions:

Select the pen to chart

It offers a Nursing note or a Round note, and opens the charting sheet without leaving the worklist.

Pick the tab you need

The sheet has Observations & fluids and Drug chart. It always opens on Observations & fluids, because that is the question the board asked.

Record, and return to the list

Saving confirms with Nursing note recorded or Round note recorded, and the row’s Last note updates.

Use Open for anything bigger

Open goes to the patient’s full inpatient chart — the whole stay, all tabs. See Admit, chart and discharge on the ward.

What needs a connection

Writing a note and loading the drug chart both need a live connection, and the product says so rather than failing quietly: Writing a note needs a connection and The drug chart needs a connection. A stale drug chart is a claim about a patient’s medicines, so it is never shown from cache. See Working offline.

Check it worked

  • The row you charted shows a fresh Last obs or Last note.
  • A patient with nothing outstanding drops off the default view.
  • Your handover text is visible in the Shift handover block to the next person who opens the station.

If something goes wrong

Check the ward filter is on All wards and that no search text is left in the box. Then switch to Priority to bring the most overdue to the top.
Writing a note needs a connection. Reconnect and try again — nothing is lost by waiting, and nothing half-written was saved.
Same reason. The drug chart is never served from cache, because a stale one would be a false statement about a patient’s medicines.
