Everything you configure once and then forget about lives here: your practice details, your team, how money moves, what clients see, and how your data is protected. This page is the map. Each tab on your screen has its own page in this help centre — find the tab, open its page.

Getting in, and who can

Settings sits at the bottom of the sidebar, in the footer. Opening it needs one of three roles: owner, manager, or accountant. Anyone else gets a single line instead of the screen — “You don’t have permission to access the settings module. Please contact your clinic administrator.” Getting in is not the same as being able to change everything. Several controls are owner-only even for a manager — currency, tax rate, the free-clinic switch, the whole of General Settings, and every action on the staff list. The control still renders; it is simply disabled, or the Save button is not drawn at all. If a field will not take your typing and there is no error, that is why. On a desktop you get a left rail headed Clinic Settings, with the strapline “Configure your professional workspace”. On a phone that rail collapses into a single dropdown at the top of the screen. The tabs are identical either way.
The settings screen says Patient in a few places where the rest of your workspace says Clients — the PATIENT EXPERIENCE section heading and the Patient Portal tab, for instance. It is the same people. This help centre bolds what is on your screen, so those two read “Patient” here too.
Settings links carry a ?tab= on the end, and a tab your plan or edition does not include silently falls back to General Settings rather than showing an error. So a link that lands you on General Settings when you expected something else is almost never broken — it is telling you that tab does not apply to your practice.

The five sections

Two tabs come and go. Inventory (“Alerts, dispensing rules & reset”) appears only when the Inventory care area is switched on. Calendar Integrations (“Sync external .ics calendars”) is visible to owners and managers only — an accountant will not see it.

Looking for a tab that isn’t here?

People are sent looking for these by a colleague on a different edition. They are not missing — they do not exist for a solo or team practice. The reverse is true of one tab. Insurance Settings exists only on Solo and Team and disappears on Enterprise — the two run different insurance systems, so an enterprise colleague genuinely cannot see the tab you are describing to them. To move between plans, see Change your plan.
