“Export clinic data as CSV or ZIP. Large exports run in the background — you can navigate away and check back.” Use it for an accountant, a migration, a regulator, or your own peace of mind before a big change.

What this tab controls

Audit Logs only appears in the picker for owners and managers. One module downloads as a single CSV; more than one arrives as a ZIP of CSVs.

Run an export

1

Choose what to export

Search the Modules box and add each one you need, or select Select all. Chosen modules appear as chips underneath; the small cross on a chip removes it.
2

Narrow it by date if you want to

Set a Date range for a period — a tax year, a quarter. Leave it as All time for everything.
3

Select Export

The button queues the job and a progress panel appears at the top reading “Queued…”. You can leave the page; the export keeps running.
4

Come back and download

When the panel says Export ready with the file name and size, select Download. The file lands in your browser’s downloads folder.
5

Put the file somewhere safe

“Files contain PHI. Handle securely per HIPAA.” Move it off your downloads folder and onto encrypted storage, and delete any copy you no longer need.

What changes once you save

Nothing in the product changes. No client sees anything, no setting moves, no record is altered — you get a file, and that is all. Two things do happen behind it. First, the export runs in the background and you are told when it is ready, rather than the page hanging while a large job finishes. Second, the export is recorded. Download links expire after 24 hours. After that the row in Recent Exports shows as expired and Re-download disappears — run the export again if you still need it. That expiry is why an export is a copy to look after, not a backup you can leave sitting in the list. If you are closing your account, export first. Deleting an account cancels billing immediately and removes your data after a 30-day recovery window; once that window closes there is nothing left to export. See Delete your account.

Check it worked

The progress panel turns green and reads Export ready with a file name and a size. Open the downloaded file: a single-module export is one CSV, a multi-module export is a ZIP containing one CSV per module. Spot-check that the rows cover the date range you asked for.

Common issues

No module is selected — the button stays disabled until you add at least one. It is also disabled while another export is still running; wait for that one to finish.
Exporting the audit log is limited to owners and managers. An accountant sees every other module.
The reason is shown under the message. Try a narrower Date range or fewer modules — a very large single job is the usual cause — then run it again.
“Could not generate download link. The file may have expired.” Links last 24 hours. Start the export again; it is quick to re-run.
The job keeps going. Come back to this tab and it picks the running job up again, or shows it finished under Recent Exports.
A full module export is the wrong tool — it contains everyone. See Export your data for the right route.
